Race Lifecycle

Each race moves through a series of statuses.

Status Flow

Scheduled → Started → Completed
                ↓
            Abandoned
                ↓
            Postponed

Scheduled

The race is planned but hasn't started yet. During this phase: - Add and manage entries - Set up start line assignments

Started

The race is underway. The start time has been recorded. During this phase: - Record finish times as boats cross the line - Add circumstances for boats that don't finish

Completed

The race has finished and all results have been recorded. Scores are calculated and standings updated.

Abandoned

The race was started but stopped before completion (e.g. due to weather). Abandoned races do not count towards series standings.

Postponed

The race has been delayed to a later date. It remains in the series but no results are recorded.

Changing Race Status

  1. Go to the race detail page
  2. Click Edit
  3. Change the status
  4. Save
