Series Lifecycle

A series moves through several statuses during its lifetime.

Status Flow

Scheduled → In Progress → Provisional Results → Finalised
                ↓
            Cancelled

Scheduled

The initial status when a series is created. During this phase: - Configure scoring settings, start lines, and divisions - Add and schedule races - Set up handicap lists

In Progress

The series is actively running. Races are being sailed and results recorded. Change to this status when the first race takes place.

Provisional Results

All races are complete but results haven't been officially confirmed. This is a review period where: - Results can still be adjusted - Protests or corrections can be applied - Public standings are shown as "Provisional"

Finalised

Results are official and final. The series is complete. This status is typically set after any protest period has ended.

Cancelled

The series will not take place or was abandoned entirely.

Changing Series Status

  1. Go to the series detail page
  2. Click Edit
  3. Change the status using the status dropdown
  4. Save your changes

Important Notes

  • Status changes are reflected immediately on the public website
  • You can move backwards (e.g. from Finalised back to Provisional Results) if corrections are needed
  • Cancelling a series does not delete it - the data is preserved
