Race Circumstance Codes
Quick reference for all race circumstance codes supported by Sailboat Racing. These follow the World Sailing Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS).
Excluding Circumstances
These replace the boat's finish with a penalty score (typically entries + 1).

| UFD | U Flag Disqualification | Disqualified under rule 30.3 (U flag) | Yes |
| BFD | Black Flag Disqualification | Disqualified under rule 30.4 (black flag) | Yes |
| NSC | Not Sailed Course | Did not sail the correct course | Yes |
| DNF | Did Not Finish | Started but did not cross the finish line | Yes |
| RET | Retired | Voluntarily withdrew from the race after starting | Yes |
| DSQ | Disqualified | Disqualified following a protest or rule violation | Yes |
| DNE | Disqualification Not Excludable | Disqualified, and this score cannot be discarded | No |
Penalty Codes
These apply a scoring adjustment on top of the boat's finishing position.

| ZFP | Z Flag Penalty | 20% penalty added to the score (rule 30.2) |
| SCP | Scoring Penalty | A specific point penalty applied to the score |
| DPI | Discretionary Penalty Imposed | Penalty at the protest committee's discretion |
| RDG | Redress Given | Score adjusted upward to compensate for an incident beyond the sailor's control |
