UI Tips

Useful tips for working efficiently in the Sailboat Racing admin panel.

  • Sidebar - use the sidebar to navigate between sections. The sidebar shows different options based on your role.
  • Breadcrumbs - use the breadcrumb trail at the top of each page to navigate back to parent pages.
  • Organisation switcher - if you're a member of multiple organisations, use the organisation selector to switch between them.

Race Day Workflow

A typical race day workflow for a race officer:

  1. Open the scheduled race
  2. Import entries from the previous race (or add entries manually)
  3. Record the start time when the race begins
  4. Record finish times as boats cross the line
  5. Add circumstances for boats that didn't finish (DNF, DNC, etc.)
  6. Mark the race as Completed

Bulk Operations

  • Import entries - carry forward entries from previous races in the series instead of adding one by one
  • Bulk schedule races - add an entire season's races at once instead of creating them individually

Year and Category Filters

Many pages support year and category filters. Use these to narrow down what you're looking at, especially in organisations with many years of historical data.

Status Badges

Colour-coded badges indicate the status of series and races at a glance: - Series: Scheduled, In Progress, Provisional Results, Finalised - Races: Scheduled, Started, Completed, Abandoned, Postponed
